Yesterday at lunch. Eating YUMMY hot dogs (all natural, brought to us by Dr. Romine as a hostess gift along with delicious pound cake!).
4 year old, "Mommy this is a really, really, really funny joke. Why did the hot dog cross the road with no legs, no tail, no mouth and no arms?"
Mommy, "I don't know. Why did he cross the road?"
4 year old, "He rolled!! Isn't that funny? Get it, he rolled?"
Mommy chuckling says, "You can tell that joke by saying 'HOW did the hot dog cross the road?' 'He rolled'"
4 year old, munching on another bite of hot dog, "This one is really, really, really, REALLY funny. How did the Saint cross the road when he was in heaven?"
Mommy laughing already, "How did the Saint cross the road while he was in heaven?"
4 yo,"I don't know!"
Mommy laughing REALLY hard says,"It was a miracle!"
4 year old laughs really hard. Then he asks,"What's a miracle?"
Today in the car with older siblings four year old tells both jokes. Gets both of them right and everyone laughs. I loved seeing that whole process and knowing that he will now know that he CAN tell a good joke.
